On June 10, 2023, CGull Cinema Productions celebrated the wedding of two dear friends, Brian and Maribel. This was one of CGull Cinema’s most precious wedding films since we have had the pleasure of knowing Brian and Maribel for years. Since this special couple is near and dear to us (since even before CGull Cinema existed) we went even more above than our usual “above and beyond” motto to capture the beauty of the day and create a breathtaking final product.
In all of our wedding videos, we aim to capture the unique aspects of every couple, but what made this specific wedding stand out among the rest was the genuine love between the bride and groom and also the grateful attitude they have towards God and the people that surround them. Our goal for this project was to showcase these character traits that appear front and center in their lives, and they are what drew us to want to be a part of their special day.
Our partnership with the Larues began a bit differently than normal in the sense that we reached out to them about filming their wedding instead of them reaching out to us. Once we talked and figured out what package would be best for them, we were ready to begin serving them in the most effective way. It started with creating a slideshow video for their rehearsal dinner; then came the wedding day. Using our trusted Blackmagic Pocket 4k camera paired with a Dzofilm 20-70mm lens (which I call my wedding lens due to the soft quality it produces) and our special mist neutral density filter to slightly bloom the highlights, we began capturing every moment. The venue, Dream Point Ranch in Bixby, OK sits on many acres of land so using our DJI Mavic 3Cine drone allowed us to capture the beauty of the location itself. For the ceremony and reception portions, we also set up two extra Blackmagic Pocket cameras on both sides in order to ensure that we don’t miss a moment.
As often as we do face challenges that we must work to overcome, this production was one of the few where it was smooth sailing all day long, making the entire day itself, a highlight for us. You could tell that God’s hand was on this couple in a very special way, and this entire day was blessed for everyone in attendance.
The final product was a beautiful wedding film that shows how good God is to those who make it their life’s goal to live as graciously and lovingly as Brian and Maribel do. One can’t help but admire the people they are, and that is why we sought to serve them in the first place.
